Now it came to pass, in the days when the judges ruled, that there was a famine in the land. And a certain man of Bethlehem, Judah, went to dwell in the country of Moab, he and his wife and his two sons.  Ruth 1:1

How could God be moving in the famine?  Due to their lack of food, Elimelech and Naomi choose to take refuge in Moab with their two sons Mahlon and Chilion.  As their story develops, the boys grow and each marries a woman from Moab.  The name of the one was Orpah, and the name of the other Ruth.  As the years go by, Ruth turns out to be a tremendous blessing to Naomi and plays an integral role in God’s plan.  In fact, Ruth will go on to be named in the lineage of Christ.

If you are in a time of famine, know that God is working.  Seek Him.  I’m not saying that this season is going to be easy, but I know that God is going to be faithful and bring us His provision in His time.
