“Do not cease to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers.” Eph. 1:16
Never underestimate the power of thanksgiving and prayer. Over time, our tendency is to get disgruntled with fellow believers. We will naturally focus on the faults, rather than the strengths, of others. Paul shows us a different path. He chooses to be thankful for the church of Ephesus and to lift them up to the Lord in prayer. Who are the believers to which you are closely linked? Are you thanking God for them and lifting them up in prayer? Imagine what your life would be like without brothers and sisters in Christ. Thank God for the impact and strength that the body of Christ has provided you, then consider the ways God is using those believers in your life. Your thanksgiving for them will lead very naturally to prayer that brings them into the presence of God. Prayer is powerful and prayer changes things! Paul prayed passionately and consistently for every church that he touched.
